Widcome Rising

Yesterdayb we went to the Widcombe Rising street festival in Bath. Great fun with lots of music, food, drink and so on. Highlights for me were the Mandibills and the Duckworths. Despite the problems with the power supply to the Canal Stage it was a great day out. A streetful of characters; it felt like I was walking through a Bob Dylan Song.

Pig Parade

My wife and I spent the day walking around Bath hunting pigs! Well..looking for some of the hundred decorated pig sculptures that have been placed around the city . King Bladud’s Pigs in Bath is a summer 2008 public art event to celebrate Bath, its origins and its artists and provide residents and visitors with some fun. It will see one hundred individually decorated life-size pig sculptures displayed throughout the summer all around Bath. See http://www.kingbladudspigs.org/ if your interested. It was a great day out, punctiated with a couple of pub stops of course. We found about 25, mainly because the map was not available yet. But I think it was more fun having to find them ourselves.
